Report: Tottenham have already enquired after Manchester United Luke Shaw

Tottenham have reportedly sounded out Manchester United over Luke Shaw.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly already enquired over the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Luke Shaw, according to The Guardian.

It is reported Spurs are also keeping tabs on Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and are ready to move if Manchester United make a bid for the left-back, as The Guardian claim the Red Devils are considering.

As part of exploring their options, and perhaps mindful that United can outbid for and offer higher wages to Sessegnon, Shaw would become an option for Spurs, with his place at Old Trafford potentially under threat.

Shaw has started only one Premier League game this season, and has failed to win Jose Mourinho over during the manager’s 18 months at Manchester United.

The notion that Spurs are considering left-backs tells it’s own story about the future of Danny Rose, who made his displeasure at the club’s wage structure clear in the summer.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino worked with Shaw at Southampton and helped him earn his £30 million move to Manchester United in 2014.

The Independent reported last month that United could cash in on Shaw in January for £20 million.
