Sky Sports report that Tottenham have added Fulham manager Marco Silva to their shortlist to replace Antonio Conte with the Italian’s future at Spurs now coming under intense scrutiny – after two Cup exits in the space of a few days.
Tottenham were knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday night after drawing with AC Milan. Just a week prior, Spurs were sent packing out of the FA Cup – with Conte weakening his side and losing 1-0 to Sheffield United.
The frustration from Spurs fans is centred around the lack of attacking football. Conte’s pragmatic style was summed up by the decision to bring on Davinson Sanchez for Deki Kulusevski on Wednesday after Cristian Romero’s red card.
That pragmatic style is hardly exciting to watch, and now – it is not producing. Spurs do remain in fourth place in the table – but Liverpool are breathing down their necks. So, maybe, it is time for Spurs to take action and sack Conte.

Clearly, Spurs are considering that path to take. Sky report that Spurs have drawn up a shortlist of managers to take over from the Italian and Fulham gaffer Silva, who has excelled in his role at the Cottage, is among those considered.
Tottenham have added Fulham manager Marco Silva to their shortlist
Silva has excelled in his post at Fulham. Getting the Cottagers promoted with an attractive brand of football, Fulham are pushing for surprise qualification in Europe. They sit in seventh place, but they have played more games than most.
Indeed, eighth-placed Brighton are just a point behind – but have three games in hand. Brentford in ninth have two in hand, just two points off. So, while Europe seems unlikely, Fulham are certainly impressing and it is down to Silva.
A move to Spurs is unlikely at least until the summer. But, luring the ex-Watford and Everton gaffer may appeal to a couple of Spurs players – namely Richarlison and Eric Dier who have worked under £87k-a-week Silva in the past.
