Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Southampton striker Danny Ings but they realise their chances of doing a deal this summer are very limited, Football London report.
Spurs’ interest in Ings is described as ‘strong’ and ‘long-standing’ but Mourinho’s side only have a limited budget and Southampton surely wouldn’t let go of their star man cheaply.
Ings notched 22 goals last term, in what was an incredible season for him.
The 28-year-old was hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by his teammate Che Adams on Sky Sports, and plenty of pundits also spoke out about how talented a player he is.
Ings would arrive at Tottenham as back-up for Harry Kane if he was to join, and there could hardly be a better option.
Ings actually outscored Kane last season and he would be a wonderful option for Mourinho to call upon.

However, Spurs supporters may have to wait for a later date before the chance to sign Ings becomes available.
There is cautious optimism about the season ahead in Southampton, and letting go of their star man is surely not in their plans.
