Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly given up on signing Ryan Sessegnon.

Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham looks on during the pre-season friendly between Reading and Fulham at the EBB Stadium on July 14, 2018 in Aldershot, England.

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur have made little movement in their talks for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish – and have given up hope of signing Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

Spurs have so far failed to make a single signing this summer, and Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to make additions to his squad before the transfer window slams shut next month.

A 4-1 friendly win over Roma has at least boosted morale amongst fans, but signings are needed soon – and two targets appear to be causing Tottenham headaches.

Football.London report that Spurs have made little progress in their bid to bring Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish to North London, whilst they are giving up any attempt to sign Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon.

Grealish, 22, has been a top Spurs target this summer, but Daniel Levy has been attempting to bide his time and prey on Villa’s financial woes – but he’s waited too long, and Villa have now found new investment to ease their troubles.

That means that Villa can now charge £30million or more for Grealish, who hit three goals and six assists last season, but Spurs are finding that talks have hit something of a standstill this week as a deal starts to slip away.

Additionally, it seems that Spurs have given up hope of luring Sessegnon to North London this summer, after the teenager signalled that he will be staying with Fulham ahead of their return to the Premier League.

The 18-year-old has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time now, but Spurs have been told that there is no chance of a deal in the next two weeks, with Pochettino desperately looking to bring in English talent this summer.
