Tottenham and Liverpool continue to be linked with Adrien Rabiot.
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are worried that target Adrien Rabiot may choose to join Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Spurs didn’t make any signings in January, but reports from L’Equipe suggested that they did make an attempt to sign PSG midfielder Rabiot before he snubbed the club as any decision on his future was put on hold after a family bereavement.
Rabiot is keeping his options open given that his PSG contract expires this summer, and Spurs may yet hope to change his mind in the coming months.
However, The Mirror now report that Spurs fear they won’t be able to land the midfielder, and believe he could end up at Liverpool.
It’s stated that Barcelona and Liverpool are leading the race right now, and Arsenal could yet join in, leaving Spurs to think that they won’t be able to land their man.
Rabiot, 23, has racked up more than 200 appearances for PSG but is all set to leave for nothing at the end of the season having snubbed all offers of a contract extension.
As a classy midfield player available on a free transfer, Rabiot is bound to attract huge interest, and he could be a superb replacement for Mousa Dembele in the Tottenham midfield.
Yet with Liverpool in the mix and no doubt able to blow a Spurs contract offer out of the water, it’s easy to understand why Tottenham may be worried that they’ll be facing Rabiot next season instead of signing him.
