There ‘remains an expectation’ that Tottenham Hotspur will get a deal done for the Swansea City defender, Joe Rodon, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper claims that Tottenham opened talks over Rodon with hours left of the summer transfer window.
But it adds that that, in the end, Spurs and Swansea could not agree a fee in time for the Wales international to be included in Jose Mourinho’s Europa League squad.
That, though, might not be the end of the matter.
And Rodon, it seems, could still be Tottenham-bound before the 16 October deadline for transfers between Premier League and Football League clubs.
Rodon’s may be a new name linked with Spurs, but The Telegraph‘s report allays fears of any panic buying on the Londoners’ part.
The newspaper adds that Manchester United are already ‘known admirers’ of the 22-year-old, could have been playing top-flight football already but for an ankle injury that ruled him of the end of last season and effectively denied him an early-window move.

Rodon’s Wales teammates Gareth Bale and Ben Davies are already in place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
