Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for Donny van de Beek.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur want Donny van de Beek for around £45million – but must fend off Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for his signature.
Spurs lost 1-0 to Ajax in midweek, and it was midfielder Van de Beek who grabbed the only goal of the game, with a well-worked strike in the first half.
Ajax’s run to the semi-finals of the Champions League has seen interest mount in a host of their players, and star midfielder Frenkie de Jong already has a move lined up having agreed to join Barcelona.
Nicolas Tagliafico, Matthijs de Ligt, Hakim Ziyech and David Neres continue to be linked away, but it’s now believed that Spurs want to sign Tuesday’s match-winner.
However, Bayern and Dortmund are thought to be in the race for Van de Beek in a £45million raid, and Tottenham will have to fight hard against Germany’s two powerhouses.
The 22-year-old is an all-round midfielder; he’s technically-gifted, as many Ajax players are, whilst also being strong, energetic and dangerous in front of goal, featuring in that box-to-box role perfectly.

A move to Bayern wouldn’t exactly be advisable, as they already have Thiago, Leon Goretzka, Corentin Tolisso and Renato Sanches who play in similar roles.
Dortmund may offer more first-team opportunities, but Tottenham have proven their credentials against them. They dumped them out of the Champions League this season, and can offer a greater role to the Dutchman given their midfield woes.
It’s still a difficult battle for Van de Beek, but Spurs have a very real chance of tempting him if they can get Ajax to agree to a deal.
