According to a report from The Express, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud.
The French World Cup winner only signed an extension at Stamford Bridge last month, but he is expected to leave the Blues this summer.
Chelsea are reportedly close to signing Timo Werner in the coming weeks while a move for Kai Havertz is also very much on the cards.
That leave no room for Giroud which makes it easier for other clubs to lure him away from Chelsea before the start of next season.
The report claims that Mourinho is a huge fan of Giroud and Tottenham will battle the likes of West Ham, Crystal Palace and Lazio for his signature this summer.
Giroud, a centurion for Tottenham’s arch-rivals Arsenal, is a proven commodity in the Premier League.

He has almost eight years of experience in England and his style of play suits Mourinho’s system very well.
A move to Tottenham will not go down well with Arsenal fans but it might just be Giroud’s best option if he leaves Chelsea this summer.
Chelsea will certainly have reservations over selling Giroud to one of their direct rivals. However, it is believed that they will let him leave as long as someone matches their £7 million asking price, which shouldn’t be a problem for Spurs even during this difficult time.
