According to a report in TuttoSport, Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs interested in signing Sampdoria attacker Mikkel Damsgaard.
The transfer window may be open right now, but this is one that Tottenham are reportedly looking to do in the summer.
Unfortunately, Spurs aren’t the only team looking at the youngster, as Bayer Leverkusen are also reportedly interested in signing him.
The Danish international has scored two goals and notched three assists for Sampdoria this term.
He has predominantly played as a left-winger this term, but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the front three as well as in central midfield.
The 20-year-old is still only young, so this could well be one for the future, and one man who thinks he could be a future star is his current coach Claudio Ranieri.
Indeed, Ranieri spoke about Damsgaard and fellow Sampdoria youngster Kristoffer Askildsen earlier this season, claiming that they have big futures in the game after making their senior debuts for their national teams.

“They made their debut in the senior national team, a sign that our scouts have chosen players who have a big future ahead of them.”
That’s big praise from a manager such as Ranieri who has seen pretty much everything there is to see in football, including a Premier League title win with Leicester City.
Tottenham have another six months or so to analyse whether or not this is a deal that will be worth doing, but it seems as though this is a player the London outfit are rather fond of.
