According to La Razon, Tottenham are planning another move for Villarreal colossus Pau Torres, after being rejected by the defender in 2021.
What’s the story?
Well, the Spanish news outlet believe Manchester United are also interested in the Spain international, who Spurs have monitored for a while.
Torres himself admitted that Tottenham offered “a lot of money” for him in 2021, but he wanted to stay and experience Champions League football with his boyhood club Villarreal.
It was a decision that paid off, as the Yellow Submarine now find themselves in the Champions League Semi-Final against Liverpool.
Now, however, Villarreal are ready to part ways with the 25-year-old, as they place a €60m (£50m) price tag on his head.
So far this season, Torres has made 40 appearances in all competitions for Villarreal, scoring five goals – an impressive amount for a defender.
Tottenham must sign Pau Torres

In our view, Tottenham have to pounce on this opportunity, as Torres may never be this cheap again.
The Villarreal-born centre-back is one of the best defenders in Europe, and is only going to get better at the age of just 25.
Admittedly, £50m is a lot, but Torres would be a necessary investment for Spurs, as Antonio Conte has few quality options in the centre-back department.

Only Eric Dier and Cristian Romero can expect to still be in N17 next season, as Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon have fallen out of favour.
Therefore, Fabio Paratici must get moving, especially as Manchester United – another side in desperate need of defensive additions – are lurking.
