Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly ended their interest in signing Juan Foyth.
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have ended their pursuit of Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth, after manager Mauricio Pochettino pulled the plug on the chase.
Spurs have yet to make a signing in this summer’s transfer window, but fans are hoping to see the club spark into action after selling right back Kyle Walker to Manchester City in a big-money deal.
Having again missed out on the Premier League title yet qualified for the Champions League for the second season in a row, Tottenham are expected to eventually make a signing, with some areas needing some attention.
Whilst Pochettino can call upon Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier in defence, Spurs may well want to bring in another young centre back to develop alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers.
Spurs had been pursuing a deal for Estudiantes teenager Juan Foyth, but Sky Sports now report that Tottenham have pulled out of the race to sign him on Pochettino’s orders.
It’s claimed that Pochettino feels the price being quoted is too rich, and Tottenham are ending their interest in the defender, meaning he could join Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain or Roma instead.

Foyth, 19, has risen up through the ranks with Estudiantes, and he has not only impressed for his club, but also for his country having played at the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea earlier this summer.
Many expected him to join Spurs, but with Pochettino ending the club’s interest, that leaves Tottenham searching for new targets to pursue this summer.
