According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur have made wingers Marcus Edwards and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou surplus to requirements this summer.

Spurs have yet to bring in any new signings this summer in what has been a frustrating period for fans who are looking for major reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season.

Mauricio Pochettino will no doubt be keen on additions, but some players may also have to leave the club this summer, and new reports suggest that a number of players may be available.

The London Evening Standard report that wingers Marcus Edwards and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou are both surplus to requirements, and will be allowed to move on before the August transfer deadline.

Edwards, 19, has come up through the Spurs ranks and has been touted for greatness in recent years, but he seemingly hasn’t had the required application to become a first-team player under Pochettino.

A loan move to Norwich City last season saw him play just once before being sent back to Spurs, and having been left out of Tottenham’s squad for their US tour, the writing appears to be on the wall for the teenager.

Fellow wide man Nkoudou has yet to start a single Premier League game for Spurs since his 2016 move from Marseille, and he spent the second half of last season out on loan at Burnley having failed to make an impact.

The 23-year-old may be available, but he has gone on Tottenham’s pre-season tour of America, though much of that may be down to Spurs being without the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, with the pacey wide man seemingly having no place under Pochettino.
