Tottenham Hotspur still want to keep Dele Alli despite his lack of game time, the Daily Mail suggest.
Alli apparently wants out at Tottenham, but the club do not want to sell him and his chances of breaking back into the side are not entirely written off.
Jose Mourinho reportedly would be willing to shift his system to accommodate Alli, if the England international can show the sort of form that once made him one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in the Premier League.
Doing that could be a struggle for Alli, as he has only been floated in and out of Tottenham’s line-up this season.
Alli has been unable to gain any rhythm due to his lack of game time, and even when he has played fairly credibly – like against Stoke City recently – Mourinho has still chosen to criticise him.
Whether Mourinho’s tactic is tough love, or simply a sign the Portuguese boss doesn’t rate the 24-year-old is very much up for discussion.
But it seems that Daniel Levy is in no mood to sanction a deal, even though the Mail say that PSG are ready to make a bid for him, with Mauricio Pochettino expected to take charge at the French club soon.
