Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Lucas Moura.

Lucas Moura #7 of Paris Saint-Germain tries to break away from Radja Nainggolan #4 of AS Roma during the second half at Comerica Park on July 19, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan.

According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura – but don’t expect to sign him before next week’s transfer deadline.

Spurs have yet to bring in any new signings during the January transfer window, which shouldn’t be a huge surprise given Mauricio Pochettino’s general reluctance to do business mid-season.

However, after drawing 1-1 with Southampton on Sunday without Christian Eriksen in the side, many want to see another creative, attacking player arrive before next Wednesday – and links to such players have been rife in recent days.

ESPN now report that Tottenham do want to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura, but aren’t expecting to sign the Brazilian before the transfer deadline, though will continue to monitor his situation in the coming days.

Moura, 25, emerged as a star in Brazil with Sao Paulo before heading to PSG in 2013, and he enjoyed his best season for the club last term, hitting 18 goals in all competitions.

However, the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have pushed Moura down the pecking order, and with no league or Champions League starts to his name this season, Moura is expected to leave this month.

Spurs allegedly have a long-standing interest in Moura, but Goal reported on Tuesday that they also want Bordeaux star Malcom and Ajax talent David Neres, making the latter their Plan B target.

With that in mind, Tottenham seemingly have three Brazilian attacking talents to choose from right now, and it may be that Moura is simply a Plan C target for Pochettino and co over the next week.
