Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen won’t play in October, according to a report.

According to Belgian outlet HLN, Tottenham Hotspur’s medical staff don’t expect Jan Vertonghen to be fit before November.
The 31-year-old came off injured at half-time in Tottenham’s win at Huddersfield Town last weekend.
It has since been revealed that the Belgium international is suffering with a hamstring injury.
And according to HLN, Spurs’ medical team aren’t hopeful that Vertonghen will be back before November.
The report goes on to criticise the Lilywhites stalwart for playing through injury, saying it ‘wasn’t the smartest idea’.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was forced to play a two-man central defence last night in the 4-2 defeat by Barcelona in the Champions League, with Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld partnering one another.
And that looks set to stay the same ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Cardiff City.
If it’s true about Vertonghen, the defender will miss a must-win European outing against PSV Eindhoven and a visit of Manchester City in the Premier League, to name a few.
