Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are willing to offer Steven Bergwijn to sign Ajax winger Antony, a player Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag wants at Old Trafford, according to to journalist Miguel Delaney in his Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Delaney has reported today (12:05pm) that Tottenham and Manchester United are interested in signing Antony from Ajax in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham are willing to send Netherlands international winger Bergwijn to Ajax to bring 22-year-old Brazil international winger Antony to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to Delaney.
Ajax have been strongly linked with Bergwijn.
Tottenham and Manchester United compete for Antony
Delaney wrote: “While there was quickly an acceptance that Nunez wanted to go to Liverpool, some believe United had a genuine chance of getting him if they acted more quickly.
“They had been talking to Benfica for a month before the Anfield hierarchy properly sped things up.
“An issue was that United were never going to go above £60m, though, since most of the budget is being saved for Frenkie de Jong.
“It means that, unless there are significant sales, the other purchases are likely to be for more up-and-coming players, such as Antony of Ajax.
“They do face competition from Tottenham Hotspur there, who are willing to offer the Dutch club Steven Bergwijn as a replacement.”

Impressive
In our view, Ajax winger Antony would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian star has been superb for Ajax and is one of the best young attacking players in Europe.
The 22-year-old made 21 starts and two substitute appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in the process.
Antony also scored two goals and gave four assists in seven Champions League matches for Ajax last season.
