According to talkSPORT, there is a ‘big chance’ that Tottenham Hotspur will terminate the contract of Danny Rose.

It’s stated that Spurs may simply cancel his contract this month in order to get him off the books and away as a free agent.

West Bromwich Albion boss Sam Allardyce is allegedly ‘very keen’ to take Rose to The Hawthorns, which would certainly be easier is he’s without a club.

The 30-year-old hasn’t been registered to play for Spurs this season, meaning he hasn’t played since his loan spell at Newcastle United ended over the summer.

Rose’s contract ends this summer anyway, but Spurs seemingly don’t want to carry his £60,000-a-week wages anymore, and would rather just reach a settlement to pay him up.

It’s sad to see Rose’s time at Spurs end this way. The left back joined Tottenham from Leeds way back in 2007, and he’s racked up more than 200 appearances for Spurs.

He became a star under Mauricio Pochettino, even becoming England’s first-choice left back too, but that all feels like a long time ago now.

Rose certainly won’t play for Spurs again, so leaving to go and play for West Brom would at least give him first-team football – though whether it’s far enough north for the Doncaster-born ace remains to be seen.
