According to Tuttomercatoweb, there is still a chance that Roberto Martinez is the next Tottenham manager and not Gennaro Gattuso.

There’s just never a dull day with Tottenham Hotspur is there?

This search for a new manager has gone on for two months, with the top target switching almost every fortnight; Erik ten Hag, Brendan Rodgers, Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte were all strongly linked.

Paulo Fonseca then looked like he had landed the job, but that deal is now off after another astonishing twist in what is become a PR shambles for Tottenham.

Gattuso the favourite for Tottenham

AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso only left his position as Fiorentina boss last night, after just a matter of weeks in the job.

The Italian quit over transfer disagreements, but could immediately land himself the Tottenham job – a situation nobody could have predicted this morning.

TMW claim that contact has been made by Tottenham in pursuit of Gattuso, and he has made it clear that he is available for the job.

But there could be another Tottenham twist in Martinez

The report does though add that one other manager is rivalling Gattuso for the job, and that’s Belgium manager Roberto Martinez.

The Spaniard has been linked with Tottenham throughout this ridiculous managerial hunt, with many expecting him to return to club management this summer.

Currently at Euro 2020 with Belgium, Martinez is claimed to be appealing to Daniel Levy, and he’s a name to keep an eye on in case this situation takes one final twist.
