Tottenham Hotspur could still appoint Erik ten Hag as their new manager, the Guardian insist.
Paulo Fonseca has now become the most likely candidate to be Tottenham’’s next manager, after he held talks with Daniel Levy yesterday.
Fonseca is said to be the top choice of Tottenham’s new sporting director Fabio Paratici.
The Guardian also suggest that talks are going well between Fonseca and Spurs.
However, they insist that Tottenham’s manager hunt is far from a forgone conclusion already.
Instead Ten Hag is said to still be firmly in contention to be Tottenham’s next manager.

Spurs initially seemed to be pushing for Ten Hag, but he extended his contract at Ajax, which appeared to put any chances of a deal to bed.
More appealing?
Tottenham, though, retain an interest in Ten Hag, even though the 51-year-old would be a more expensive candidate than Fonseca, due to the compensation payment which would be involved.
Ten Hag may be a slightly more appealing appointment for Tottenham fans than Fonseca.
Ten Hag has impressed at Ajax, and has a 73% win rate over his time with the Dutch side, as well as leading them to five trophies.
He has led Ajax to league titles and also success in Europe, all while playing very stylish football.
And if it is between him and Fonseca, he does seem the more appealing choice, based on past success.
