According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur could return with a new move for Southend United striker Charlie Kelman this summer.
It’s claimed that both Spurs and Sunderland submitted bids to sign Kelman on deadline day in January. Both offers reached six figures.
However, Southend stood firm and rejected both bids. They may have hoped that the teenage hitman could fire them to survival, but that seems unlikely.
Southend sit 16 points adrift of safety in League One, and look set to be relegated whether the season resumes or not.
The report states that Spurs could return for Kelman once Southend’s fate is confirmed, with Tottenham potentially eyeing a bargain.
Southend – much like all Football League clubs – will have been hit hard by the global pandemic, and it may just leave them needing cash.

Kelman is a very attractive asset with market value. The 18-year-old striker has hit seven goals in 19 games this season, showing real promise.
The American talent looks set for a bright future, and with Spurs needing to find a striker yet having little to spend this summer, bringing in Kelman for the future may make sense.
