According to The Echo, Queens Park Rangers have made a bid to sign Southend United striker Charlie Kelman as they look to beat Tottenham Hotspur to his signature.
It’s claimed that QPR have tabled a bid to sign Kelman ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, leaving the League Two side to consider selling.
The report adds that Tottenham and Swansea City are also keen on Kelman, with QPR now pushing hard to win the race.
The Daily Mail reported back in June that Spurs attempted a six-figure deal for Kelman on deadline day in January, and were still interested.
These new reports therefore do make some sense, but whether Spurs see him as a priority remains to be seen.
They already have a talented young striker out on loan in Troy Parrott, whilst Kion Etete is coming through the ranks too, meaning Spurs need to decide whether they can develop Kelman alongside other young strikers.

Kelman, 18, has hit eight goals in 35 games for Southend, impressing last season despite suffering relegation to the fourth tier.
QPR signed Lyndon Dykes over the summer but could still offer Kelman a path to first-team football, and the R’s seem to be in a strong position to pip Spurs to the American-born talent having made that first bid.
