Tottenham Hotspur could look to replace Jose Mourinho with Gareth Southgate, the Guardian report.

Tottenham may well leave Ryan Mason in interim charge at the end of the season, at which point they will assess their options.

Southgate will lead England to the European Championships over the summer, but his future beyond that tournament is uncertain.

It is now claimed that Tottenham view him as a possible option to replace Mourinho.

Southgate would certainly be an interesting appointment, given the relationships he has formed with many of Tottenham’s players at international level.

Mourinho said Southgate has a good relationship with Kane last year in the London Evening Standard.

The England boss has also hailed Harry Winks as a ‘very good footballer’ (Independent) and has also spoken positively about Dele Alli in the Daily Mirror.

His potential appointment, therefore, may excite the Tottenham pair who were frozen out under Mourinho.

Alli’s exclusion was, in particular, difficult to explain towards the end of Mourinho’s tenure.

And the attacking midfielder will surely get a look in at Spurs again now, with Mourinho exiting.
