According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur could turn to Bournemouth hitman Callum Wilson after learning the extent of Harry Kane’s injury.

As if Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United wasn’t bad enough, the injury to Kane in the dying embers of the game has really hurt Spurs.

Kane went down with an ankle injury, and it has now been confirmed that he faces two months out as he nurses his injury, yet another ankle blow.

With Son Heung-min off at the Asian Cup with South Korea and Fernando Llorente out of favour, Spurs may now be forced to dip into the transfer market to sign another striker.

The Mirror report Spurs could abandon their plans to not sign anybody this month in order to join Chelsea and West Ham United in the battle for Bournemouth star Wilson.

Chelsea have long been linked with Wilson given their desperate need for a striker, whilst West Ham are allegedly keen as they look at potential replacements for Marko Arnautovic.

Tottenham have ‘admired’ Wilson for a little while according to Sky Sports, and may feel that the time is right to sign the 26-year-old after hitting nine goals and five assists in 20 games this season.

Wilson even earned a first England cap and goal earlier this season, and with Bournemouth reluctant to sell, it could cost a club anywhere between £45million and £75million to prise Wilson away.

Spurs are unlikely to have that money to spend so freely, but with Kane out of action and few other options, these are desperate times with their Champions League spot on the line, and it may just force a risk this month…even if Spurs fans will believe this is hugely unlikely.
