Tottenham Hotspur may be about to inadvertently scupper Arsenal’s chances of signing Manuel Locatelli this summer.

That’s according to CalcioMercato who are reporting that Tottenham’s pursuit of Cristian Romero could start a transfer domino effect that sees Locatelli finally make his move to Juventus.

It’s no secret that Juventus want Locatelli and that Locatelli wants to join Juve, but as of yet, they’ve not been able to agree a deal.

However, if Romero joins Spurs, Atalanta are reportedly going to move for Merih Demiral from Juve, and that would give the Old Lady the finances required to complete the move for Locatelli.

Arsenal have been waiting in the wings hoping that Juventus wouldn’t be able to complete this deal, and the Gunners are huge admirers of the Italian.

Indeed, Fabrizio Romano claims that the London club believe that Locatelli would have been ‘perfect’ for the Premier League, but now it seems as though he may not be plying his trade at the Emirates.

The cruel irony for Arsenal is that Spurs’ move for Romero will be what leads to them missing out on Locatelli, and with Tottenham reportedly already agreeing personal terms with the Argentine, it seems as though the first domino in this transfer chain reaction has already fallen.
