According to The Independent, Barcelona are prepared to offer either Nelson Semedo or Philippe Coutinho in a deal to sign Tanguy Ndombele.
Ndombele has been an unused substitute in Tottenham’s first two games back in the Premier League, which has unsurprisingly sparked further rumours about his future.
It seems almost co-ordinated that stories about Ndombele emerge when he isn’t picked, with his agents potentially getting his name out there as he sits on the Spurs bench.
With that in mind, it’s now claimed that Barcelona want to sign Ndombele, and are prepared to give up right back Semedo or playmaker Coutinho to land him.
Spurs allegedly want to recoup their £55million outlay on Ndombele, and ideally wouldn’t take a swap deal, but the players on offer could be tempting.
Portuguese right back Semedo should be very familiar to Mourinho, and he could offer an upgrade on Serge Aurier as a speedy, attack-minded option in the right back spot.
Playmaker Coutinho has been linked with Spurs for around a year now, and is available after a loan spell at Bayern Munich, with Barca wanting to offload him.
Spurs want their money, but either player could bolster the Tottenham side. If Mourinho isn’t going to use Ndombele more regularly, a swap may become increasingly appealing.
