According to AS, Tottenham have made contact with Massimiliano Allegri as Daniel Levy continues to hunt for José Mourinho’s replacement.
The Spanish news outlet write that Levy likes the Italian, and has sounded him out as a potential appointment.
However, Allegri wants time to consider the move, as he’s currently got one eye on Zinedine Zidane’s situation at Real Madrid.
It sounds as if the 53-year-old is keen to keep himself available in case the Frenchman walks away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Allegri is certainly worth waiting for. He’s arguably the best manager to be linked with the Tottenham job so far.
His record is absolutely outstanding.
Throughout his career, Allegri has won an impressive 15 trophies.
He’s picked up six Serie A titles, four Italian Cups and three Italian Super Cups.

Allegri has also won the Supercoppa di Serie C and the Italienischer Drittligameister, according to Transfermarkt.
Incredibly, he has also won 346 of his 621 games in charge, which is a fantastic record.
From those 621 games, Allegri has only watched his side lose 137 times.
Those 621 games have also yielded 1,046 goals and 1,176 points.
Across his career, Allegri has averaged 1.89 points per game.

Like Mourinho, he is a proven winner.
If Allegri does end up in north London, let’s just hope he enjoys a more successful time than the Portuguese coach did.
While we said he’s worth waiting for, Levy presumably won’t want to wait too long before he hires a new manager.
The transfer window opens soon, and with Harry Kane’s future up in the air, it will be a huge window for Spurs.
