According to Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham are one of six clubs to have contacted Barcelona to enquire about Emerson Royal – Arsenal have too.
The north London duo are joined by Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Villarreal and AC Milan in the race for the right-back.
Interestingly, the 22-year-old is joint-owned by Barcelona and Real Betis, who combined to pay €12 million (£10.3 million) to sign him from Atlético Mineiro in 2019.
He will officially become the sole property of Barcelona on June 30th.
However, Mundo Deportivo state that it is unclear whether Emerson will ever play for the Spanish giants.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham are in need of new right-backs.
Mundo Deportivo‘s report claims that Arsenal are looking to offload Héctor Bellerín, and want a ready-made replacement.
Elsewhere, there is plenty of interest in Tottenham’s Serge Aurier, who could leave north London, while Matt Doherty has looked out of his depth.

It will be interesting to see where Emerson ends up, with so many top European clubs fighting for his services.
You can understand why the São Paulo-born full-back has so many clubs monitoring him.
In 35 appearances this season, he has scored two goals while also recording four assists, showing plenty of attacking adventure with his surging runs.
In fact, he is such an attack-minded presence that he has even been compared to Brazilian icon Dani Alves.

Brazilian news outlet UOL wrote that he ‘mirrors’ the former Barcelona wizard.
In 813 career outings, Dani Alves has scored 59 goals and registered 169 assists.
If Emerson can have a career even half as good as that, he’ll have done well.
