According to Le Parisien, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson – and he could cost around €20million (£18million).
It’s claimed that Marseille need to sell this summer, and whilst Boubacar Kamara is their most saleable asset, he has told the club that he wants to stay.
That mean that multiple players may need to leave, and midfielder Sanson is named alongside defender Duje Caleta-Car and full back Bouna Sarr as potentially leaving.
The report mentions that Tottenham could offload Tanguy Ndombele and bring in Sanson, with a fee of just £18million needed for the former Montpellier man.
Sanson is being represented by a popular name in Spurs circles, Pini Zahavi. L’Equipe reported as much last month, claiming that Zahavi had contacted Tottenham about a deal.
Zahavi brokered Jose Mourinho’s move to Tottenham back in November, and has been mentioned in conjunction with a number of other players linked with Spurs.
Sanson, 25, is a technically-gifted, playmaking midfielder with five goals and five assists this season, becoming one of Andre Villas-Boas’s favourite players at Marseille.
It seems unlikely that Spurs will offload Ndombele right now, but with Mourinho possibly in the market for another midfielder anyway, Sanson could still be on the Tottenham radar.
