According to the Daily Mail, Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici are now both backing Nuno Espirito Santo as the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Tottenham sacked Jose Mourinho back in April, but more than two months on they still haven’t managed to find a replacement.

A host of names have fallen by the wayside, with moves for both Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso scrapped last week. Now, it’s Nuno’s turn to be favourite.

Nuno emerges as Tottenham favourite

It’s claimed that Nuno is attracted by the prospect of managing such a big club in Tottenham, and may half plans to home to be with his family in Portugal.

Thursday is thought to have been a key day, as Levy and Paratici allegedly got on the same page and made Nuno their pick to be the next Tottenham boss.

Nuno has only been out of work for a few weeks having left Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of last season, and has recently been linked with Crystal Palace and Everton.

What about Graham Potter?

The report adds that Steve Hitchen has been pushing for an English manager, and Tottenham have subsequently been giving ‘serious thought’ to moving for Graham Potter.

The results for Potter’s Brighton side weren’t amazing last season, but he pushed a superb brand of football and has developed young players – which is the identity Daniel Levy wanted.

Branded ‘the best English manager’ by Pep Guardiola, Potter looks set to miss out to Nuno with Levy seemingly willing to go back on the brand of football he desired.
