Tottenham Hotspur’s coaches think that Dane Scarlett has a higher potential than every other striker at the club, with the exception of Harry Kane, Football London report.
Tottenham have the likes of Carlos Vinicius, Lucas Moura and Troy Parrott, who could all fill in for Kane up top.
But it is Scarlett who the clubs coaching staff reportedly have the highest hopes for.
That may go some way to explaining why Jose Mourinho opted to bring the 16-year-old on during Tottenham’s clash with West Bromwich Albion yesterday.
It also throws up some question marks over Vinicius’s long-term future at Spurs.

Tottenham do have an option to make Vinicius’s loan move from Benfica a permanent one, but he has done very little so far to suggest that he is a long-term solution.
And with Scarlett apparently considered to have a higher ceiling, Spurs may feel that signing Vinicius would only block the pathway of an even better talent.
