Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on the signing of Leeds United winger Jack Clarke.

According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a £15million deal for Leeds United winger Jack Clarke – and could be loaned back.
Clarke, 18, enjoyed a promising campaign under Marcelo Bielsa, picking up two goals and two assists in 24 league appearance, though only four were as a starter.
The bright young winger has attracted Premier League interest, and with Leeds potentially needing to sell a player having missed out on promotion, Clarke looks to be a potential sale.
It’s now claimed that Spurs are closing in on a £15million deal for Clarke, but he would be a long-term addition for Mauricio Pochettino’s side given that he could be loaned straight back to Leeds.
That may be ideal for the Whites; they’d get in a huge fee to help balance the books, but keep Clarke at Elland Road for another season as they pursue promotion.
Clarke would be able to continue his development under Bielsa too, which seems perfect for Spurs given that Pochettino’s principles are inspired by his compatriot.

However, this appears to be a quick turnaround. The Yorkshire Evening Post last week reported that Tottenham were unlikely to meet Leeds’ asking price for Clarke.
To suddenly turn around and pay £15million – and then loan him back to Leeds – would be a surprise step for Tottenham, but they may well have decided to ramp up their interest out of fear of missing out to another club.
