Birmingham City teenager Jude Bellingham has become one of the most hotly-sought youngsters in England after an outstanding breakthrough season.

The Telegraph report that he is about to join German giants Borussia Dortmund for a fee in the region of £30 million.

He apparently had other clubs such as Manchester United sniffing around him, but has elccted to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and made the move to the Bundesliga.

The report also says that Tottenham tried to buy Bellingham last year, but Daniel Levy’s bid did not quite get up to the level of money he is about to move for now.

They report that Spurs offered just £1 million last year for a player who is now all set to move for 30 times that now.

Levy will never let his club get ripped off and if that means missing out on a promising player then he’ll do it.

£1 million for a teenager may have been the old way of the world, but now Dortmund are paying £30 million with a near guarantee that they’ll make a profit on that when they do eventually sell Bellingham.

Many Spurs fans may feel that skinflint approach is typical of their transfer dealings and goodness knows their midfield could do with the type of energy and freshness Bellingham would provide.
