Italian outlet Roma Giallorossa claim Tottenham have thrown their hat into the ring to sign Poland World Cup defender Jakub Kiwior – but they face competition from Diego Simeone, and last 16 Champions League opponents AC Milan.
Kiwior, 22, has been starring in Serie A for Spezia. Joining the club 18 months ago, he has worked his way into the line-up and become first choice. In that time, he has clocked up 40 appearances. His form has also impressed Poland.
Indeed, the centre-back has broken into Poland’s side and he won his sixth cap on Tuesday. Poland were dominated by Mexico at the World Cup, but drew 0-0 – and could easily have won it. Robert Lewandowski, though, missed a penalty.
TMW say West Ham tabled £9m in the summer. Now, the interest is growing – especially after his performance against Mexico, holding out for a clean sheet. Spurs, Milan and Atletico Madrid are all interested in nabbing the young star.

Tottenham do need additions at centre-back. Eric Dier’s form at the start of the season was superb, earning an England recall. But since his return to England, he has looked nervous – perhaps playing with the knowledge of the World Cup.
Clement Lenglet has been okay, Cristian Romero is Antonio Conte’s best option – but is often injured. Ben Davies, in terms of consistency and availability, has probably been Tottenham’s best defender this season. More is needed.
Bringing a player in with the potential to surpass these players might be Fabio Paratici’s thinking. That, rather than spending north of £50million on the likes of Alessandro Bastoni and Josko Gvardiol. Kiwior might be a slow burner.
But, he has shown – even on the World Cup stage – he is ready to add something to Tottenham’s side. Poland played three at the back towards the end of the game, and left-footed Kiwior showed he can play in a four or a three.
