Tottenham Hotspur want to hold talks with Arne Slot as they target the Feyenoord boss as a replacement for Antonio Conte.

That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Tottenham would like to speak to Slot about a move to North London.

Tottenham are planning talks with Luis Enrique but the Spaniard isn’t an absolute guarantee for the job.

Spurs do have other targets in mind and Slot is one of the key names in the mix.

Slot currently has Feyenoord top of the Eredivisie table and closing in on an unexpected title win.

Feyenoord lost so many key players last season as the likes of Marcos Senesi, Tyrell Malacia, Fredrik Aursnes and Luis Sinisterra.

Slot has not only kept Feyenoord moving but actually made them even better this season.

Now potentially 90 minutes away from the Europa League semi-finals, Slot is one of the top up-and-coming managers out there and Tottenham are right to be interested.

Tottenham will have to wait for Arne Slot talks

Slot has been earning huge praise over in the Netherlands.

Feyenoord star Alireza Jahanbakhsh has hailed Slot as ‘the best coach in the world at the moment’.

Slot has also been branded ‘ultra-attacking’ by Dutch journalist Marcel van de Kraan.

That description will be just what Tottenham fans want to hear – even if Slot isn’t Mauricio Pochettino.

Yet whilst Tottenham can speak to Enrique right now given that he is out of a job, they face a wait for Slot.

The Dutchman won’t want to speak to another club whilst Feyenoord are going for a title and progressing in the Europa League.

Spurs may end up having to wait at least another month before really being able to engineer direct talks with Slot.

That’s far from ideal and will leave Enrique with a head-start as Tottenham consider their managerial options.
