According to Tutto Mercato Web, Tottenham have now made an approach for Lille boss Christophe Galtier.
The Italian news outlet adds that Real Madrid and Lazio have also made contact with the 54-year-old, who looked set to join OGC Nice.
After guiding Lille to their first Ligue 1 title since 2011, Galtier is in high demand.
Tutto Mercato Web claim he has an agreement with OGC Nice, but Lille are insisting that their domestic rivals pay him out of his contract.
In the meantime, Tottenham have asked about his situation, although Tutto Mercato Web add that Spurs still dream of Mauricio Pochettino.
If Galtier does end up replacing José Mourinho, Daniel Levy will have found himself a fine manager.
What does Galtier’s record look like?
The Frenchman has a fine track record.
Galtier has won 232 of his 513 games as a manager, amassing 827 points along the way.
He wins 1.61 points-per-game, on average.
Over the years, Galtier has also watched his side score 733 goals in those 513 games, while conceding 563.

In addition to his Ligue 1 title, the Marseille-born coach has also won the French League Cup with AS Saint-Etienne.
However, his recent title win is one of the finest achievements of any manager in recent years, in our view.
Ligue 1 has quickly become a one-team league, in which Paris Saint-Germain hoover up title after title with their multi-million pound squad.
For someone to come along and knock them off their perch takes some doing, but that is exactly what Galtier did with a shrewdly assembled Lille side.

Kylian Mbappé, Neymar and Pochettino didn’t know what hit them as the likes of Burak Yilmaz, Yusuf Yazici and Jonathan David all hit double figures for Ligue 1 goals.
Pochettino will surely have been left stunned, as his side finished just one point behind Galtier’s in a division he was widely expected to win with ease.
Tottenham were right to have approached Galtier, as an achievement like that certainly shouldn’t go unnoticed.
