Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are said to have ‘detailed’ scouting reports on the 17-year-old Walsall striker.
Candlin made his senior debut in April this year, two months before his 17th birthday, and has since gone on to make another five appearances for Walsall.
He signed his first professional contract with the League One side in August, shortly before he was called up to train with an England Under-18 squad featuring Tottenham trio Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Oliver Skipp and Timothy Eyoma.
According to the Sun, Spurs and West Ham have ‘detailed’ scouting reports on Candlin, who is already six foot tall. However, there is no suggestion that an approach is imminent from either side.
The pair, who faced each other in the Premier League on Saturday, boast impressive track records when it comes to blooding young talent.
Teenagers Nathan Holland, Declan Rice and Domingos Quina have all appeared for West Ham’s first team this season, with Harry Winks, Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters – who are all 21 or under – doing likewise for Tottenham.
