Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are both interested in signing the teenage winger, according to reports.
Azah was born in Ghana, but has recently become an Irish citizen and moved to London, seemingly putting himself in the shop window for a number of high profile clubs.
The Mail reports that the 17-year-old spent some of the summer working with Cardiff City, and has previously had trials with the likes of Manchester United, Everton and Celtic.
It is now Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal vying for the teenage winger’s signature, according to the Mail. He scored twice against the Hammers’ under-18s in pre-season while with the Bluebirds, and it appears that they would like to bring him in themselves.
It is unlikely that West Ham or Spurs fans will be getting carried away with the reports. There have been numerous players down the years who have been earmarked as an incredibly special talent before failing to break out of obscurity once their professional career actually begins.
However, perhaps the clubs can take some encouragement from how many high-profile teams are taking a serious look at Azah, who has represented Republic of Ireland at youth level. It is clear that he has a lot of potential, and the right move next could be fantastic for his career.
And for Azah, he can certainly look at the likes of Spurs and West Ham and see that there is a pathway there for players to emerge from the youth sides into the first-team.
