Italian outlet CalcioStyle claim both Tottenham and Manchester United have made offers to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan. Both United and Spurs are said to have tabled five-year deals worth £109,000 a week after tax.
Maignan, 27, has impressed since joining the club from Lille last summer. Clocking up 39 appearances in his first season for Milan, clocking up an enormous 19 clean sheets and conceding 32 goals. A wonderful first season at Milan.
The France international has continued as Milan’s first choice this season, after winning Serie A last term. Meanwhile, United and Tottenham want a new goalkeeper ahead of January and next summer – for two different reasons.
Spurs have Hugo Lloris, who made a mistake on Sunday. He is now 35, and Maignan is seen as Lloris’ long-term replacement in the France team. David De Gea is out of contract at the end of the season, but wants to sign a new deal.
The report claims that Tottenham and Manchester United have made offers to sign Maignan. It is unclear how much would have to be paid to land the goalkeeper. But five-year deals worth £109,000 after tax are on the table.

It is also claimed that Newcastle, Brentford and Crystal Palace are also keen on Maignan. However, Maignan’s representatives are not willing to discuss clubs without European football. Newcastle could change that, this season.

Maignan would be a wonderful signing for either Spurs, or United. A goalkeeper that has plenty of years ahead of him, but one that is already as good as Lloris and De Gea. If not, better. But it all depends on the transfer fee.
Costing Milan a bargain £13million in total, the Rossoneri would be making a tidy profit even if they got double their initial outlay. But a fee of £26million would still be a bargain and easily affordable for both Premier League clubs.
