Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are both tracking the Rennes star according to reports.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham and Liverpool are two of six clubs interested in signing Rennes midfield ace Benjamin Bourigeaud this summer.

Spurs and the Reds will have to act fast, however, if they want to sign the Frenchman.

Estadio Deportivo claims that Sevilla have already lodged a €12 million (£10.7 million) bid for the 25-year-old, although it is believed that Rennes are demanding at least €15 million (£13.4 million) for his services.

The Spanish publication also claims that Tottenham and Liverpool will face competition from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United for the Rennes star.

Good signing?

Bourigeaud boasts decent stats from his time with Rennes, with 21 goals and 17 assists to his name in 93 appearances in all competitions, all from a central midfield position.

And judging by those numbers, he would be extremely useful for either Tottenham or Liverpool.

The Frenchman is extremely comfortable in possession, and has a wonderful array of passing.

The only red flag for the Premier League duo will be that Bourigeaud is already 25, and has not yet played at a higher level than a mid-table Ligue 1 side.

Either way, for just £13.4 million, he might just be worth the gamble for Tottenham or Liverpool.
