Report: Tottenham and Inter Milan battling for Joris Gnagnon

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Joris Gnagnon.

Tottenham Hotspur broke their club record this summer to sign Davinson Sanchez from Ajax. The 21-year-old centre-back joined the club on a six-year deal.

Mauricio Pochettino already has the likes of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld in central defence, while Eric Dier can also play that role if necessary.

However, it seems the Spurs manager is still looking to bolster the central defence area.

According to reports from The Sunday People (printed edition; September 24th; page 47), Tottenham are battling with Serie A giants Inter Milan for Joris Gnagnon.

The 20-year-old Rennes defender has emerged as a top talent and is one of the most highly sought-after young players in French football.

Premier League giants Chelsea tried to sign him in the summer, but the player refused to join the Blues as he feared it will stunt his development.

Known for his aerial ability, the defender is valued at £14 million by the French club.

He plays for Ivory Coast, but has a French passport as well. It remains to be seen whether Spurs make a move for him in the January transfer window or wait till next summer.
