TuttoUdinese claim that Tottenham and Everton are the ‘most-interested’ teams in Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao. A move will have to wait until the end of the 22-23 season, with Becao keen to stay until next season.

Becao, 26, joined Udinese in the summer of 2019 from Brazilian side Bahia. He has since been a regular for the Serie A side, clocking up 110 appearances for Udinese. But he has entered the final two years of his current deal.

Tottenham are well-stocked at centre-back. That is, despite losing Joe Rodon on loan to Ligue 1 side Rennes. Clement Lenglet came in, acting as competition on the left of a back three alongside Ben Davies. Everton, too.

They brought in Conor Coady and James Tarkowski. The duo have formed an impressive partnership in the middle of the Everton defence. Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey remain at the club, among other options.

But CMW claim that Mina is a target for Inter Milan. His deal ends in 2023. Godfrey is only just returning from injury, and Holgate is yet to prove he is of Premier League standard. Becao, then, could come in at Goodison Park.

Spurs may look to shake their defensive options next summer, too. Rodon may want to leave permanently, as he continues to remain first choice for Rennes this term – although, receiving a red card last weekend for Rennes.

Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga have been linked with moves to Italian clubs. Lenglet is only on loan and could depart next summer. So, a centre-back may be targeted next summer by Tottenham’s Fabio Paratici.

Becao is a good defender and a player that Paratici will be keeping an eye one, given his preference to sign players from Italy. Of course, he is playing alongside Destiny Udogie. It will be interesting to see how much he costs.
