The Sun claim Tottenham and Chelsea are to go head to head in the summer to sign Brighton sensation Evan Ferguson after his wonderful breakthrough campaign at the Amex – in which he has scored four goals in 11 senior appearances.
Ferguson, 18, came into the current campaign with just four senior outings to his name for Brighton. He had failed to score, laying on one assist. But Roberto De Zerbi has placed his faith in the Ireland star, and he has duly delivered.
Playing seven times in the Premier League this season, Ferguson has scored three goals and laid on two assists. That is despite only starting three of those games. The striker has excelled, earning plenty of rave reviews – and now interest.
Ian Wright has been blown away by Ferguson. He said he has been “very impressed” by him and showing “very good awareness”. Interest has now come his way, too. The Sun say Tottenham and Chelsea will make moves in the summer.
The report claims that Tottenham actually see two-time Ireland international Ferguson as a player that can become a long-term replacement for Harry Kane at Spurs. A move to Chelsea would see him reunite with boss Graham Potter.

Tottenham and Chelsea to go head to head to sign Brighton’s Ferguson
Ferguson is an enormous talent. A player that has shown no signs of intimidation from playing in the Premier League. While it was Potter that gave him his debut, it has been De Zerbi that has really helped the Irish striker blossom.
Another example of Brighton bringing in a young talent, moulding him and then unleashing him on the first team. But, he could also be another example of Brighton generating this talent and then selling him for an enormous figure.
Stay at Brighton – or join Chelsea or Spurs? Well, staying at Brighton is probably his best move. But if the fee from the clubs is hard to turn down – then, he would surely favour a move to Spurs. Even, if he is second choice behind Kane.
