Tottenham Hotspur are showing an interest in Salernitana goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa but face competition from Chelsea.
That’s according to Tutto Salernitana, who claim that Ochoa is attracting real interest from Premier League clubs.
It’s stated that Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham all fancy signing Ochoa this summer.
The report notes that Ochoa’s contract expires this summer but there is a two-year option to stay at Salernitana.
Ochoa and Salernitana will discuss whether that option is right for them, with Premier League interest no doubt causing some doubt.
Ochoa has excelled for Salernitana since arriving from Club America in the January transfer window and has been hailed as ‘immense’ in Italy.
Fans know all about Ochoa because of his World Cup performances.
Ochoa always seems to turn into the best goalkeeper in the world when the World Cup comes around and he was impressive in Qatar again, saving a penalty from Robert Lewandowski.
Ochoa’s Serie A performances may now have turned some heads but a move to the Premier League would be a huge surprise.

HITC View: Tottenham Hotspur surely won’t be signing Guillermo Ochoa
Tottenham do need a goalkeeper this summer.
Hugo Lloris appears to be coming to the end of his time as Tottenham’s first-choice goalkeeper and Fraser Forster isn’t the long-term option.
A number of stoppers are being linked with Spurs but Ochoa is a surprise and somewhat bizarre link.
It would be very strange for Tottenham to go and sign another goalkeeper, only to pick somebody who turns 38 this summer in Ochoa.
Both Lloris and Forster are in their 30’s and have bags of Premier League experience.
Ochoa, for as impressive as he is for Mexico, is pushing 40 now and just wouldn’t make any sense fro Tottenham.
Tottenham need to go younger with their next goalkeeping addition and we can’t see Ochoa ending up in North London this summer.
