Bournemouth have dropped Josh King’s price tag to £10 million with Tottenham Hotspur keen to snap up the Norway international before Monday’s transfer deadline, according to The Sun (30 September, page 51).
The London giants have been linked with strikers across Europe since Jose Mourinho made his desire for a new number nine public.
But, with the deadline looming, King may have overtaken the likes of Bas Dost, Wout Weghorst and Carlos Vinicius to become Tottenham’s top option.
And why not?
The former Manchester United youngster is proven in the Premier League, unlike Weghorst, Vinicius and co, averaging almost ten goals per season across five top-flight campaigns at Bournemouth – including 12 in 2018/19.
King is also versatile enough to play through the middle or out wide, suggesting the 28-year-old could play alongside, as well as instead of, Harry Kane.
Did we mention the fact King is due to become a free agent in summer 2021?

The Sun reports Bournemouth are now listening to offers of £10 million in the knowledge this is the final week in which they can demand a sizeable fee for a man whose value will drop substantially as soon as the window closes.
The Sun reports Aston Villa are interested too.
And with a deal for Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica hitting the buffers because of his desire to remain in the Bundesliga (Kreis Zeitung), don’t be surprised if Villa return for King in the next few days.
