Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were amongst the host of sides to scout Issa Diop recently.

The 21-year-old is making a big reputation for himself in Ligue 1. He is already the captain having only made 72 league appearances for club – and it appears that he is attracting plenty of attention from elsewhere.

However, it appears that they will face plenty of competition for his signature, with Mundo Deportivo adding that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan have also been scouting the centre-back – though the Premier League rivals appear to be leading the charge.

Good target for Tottenham and Arsenal?
He may not be the marquee addition that either sets of fans may be hoping for, especially Arsenal given their defensive problems this season, but Diop is showing signs that suggest that he could be a hugely impressive centre-back in years to come.
Already captain of a team in one of Europe’s top leagues, the France under-21 international appears to have an enormous amount of potential, and uncovering those leadership qualities in a player so young must be extremely difficult for clubs to find.
So with a number of European giants lurking, Spurs and the Gunners should look to take advantage of their reported position in the race and do all they can to get a deal done as quickly as possible as it appears that Diop is definitely a player to keep an eye on for the future.
