Football London report that 11 clubs are interested in Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence – with North London sides Tottenham and Arsenal two of those teams. The Boro ace is shining on loan at Nottingham Forest.

London-born Spence, 21, has been excellent for Steve Cooper’s Forest – while on loan. A regular on the right flank, he has been crucial in helping Cooper turn Forest’s form around – after a poor start under Chris Hughton.

Despite his age, Spence is approaching 100 senior appearances – having clocked up a huge 70 for Boro before going out on loan. His form at Forest is certainly attracting interest. Football London claim 11 clubs want him.

They say Arsenal are one of those 11, while the same outlet reported Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici watched him earlier this week. Transfer expert Dean Jones claims a fee of £10million would be needed.

11 clubs want Spence: Arsenal or Tottenham for Boro sensation?

Arsenal do have options on the right of their defence, having brought Takehiro Tomiyasu in last summer. But Calum Chambers has left the club for Villa. Cedric Soares and Nuno Tavares are currently back-up.

Cedric could leave, though, and Nuno is better on the left. So, a move to Arsenal is a real possibility. At Tottenham, they want a better option than Emerson Royal. Matt Doherty’s long-term future is a big doubt.

Japhet Tanganga is hardly a right-back, and more of a right-sided centre-back. So, both clubs could do with Spence. It might come down to where the two clubs finish in the Premier League come May.
