Liverpool have been joined by Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the race to sign the hitman, according to reports.
Luan in action for Brazil
The Gunners and Spurs have joined the Reds in the race to sign Gremio striker Luan, according to football website TransferMarketWeb.
The 24-year-old Brazilian is one of his side’s most valuable commodities, and certainly has a bright future ahead of him.
He is an accomplished dribbler, and possess explosive pace, which lends itself to him playing off the shoulder of the last defender.
Luan’s attributes make him ideal for all three club’s mentioned, although it could be argued that Tottenham, with their over-reliance on Harry kane, are in more pressing need of a player of his ilk.
And TransferMarketWeb report that the forward could be available for around €15 million (£12.7 million) – a fee that the Lilywhites would easily be able to stretch to.
It would be no surprise to see either Arsene Wenger or Jürgen Klopp make a major play for the Brazilian, however, what with the uncertainty surrounding Alexis Sanchez’ future at the Emirates, and Daniel Sturridge edging ever closer to the Anfield exit door.
One question mark hanging over Luan’s head though, is whether or not he will be able to adapt his style of play to suit the robust nature of the Premier League.
Standing at just 5ft 11in, and weighing only 11 stone, the Brazilian is hardly in possession of an imposing physique, and that could be a major problem, should any of the aforementioned clubs bring him to England this summer.
