Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are among the sides looking to move for Jeison Murillo this summer, but Inter Milan are apparently reluctant to sell.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Tottenham and Arsenal are among the teams who are interested in signing Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo this summer – but they appear to face a difficult task trying to get his current side to agree to a deal.
Calciomercato reports that Spurs and the Gunners are vying with Valencia for Murillo’s signature this summer, and it had appeared that the La Liga side had been in the driving seat to win the race.
However, the Nerazzurri are now reluctant to sanction a deal with Calciomercato reporting that the Serie A giants are struggling to find an adequate replacement for the 25-year-old even after bringing Milan Skriniar to San Siro earlier this summer.
Jeison Murillo
Murillo has certainly impressed over the last couple of seasons since arriving at Inter from Granada, so it is not that surprising that Tottenham and Arsenal are reportedly among the teams keeping an eye on him.
And it perhaps would also not be too great a shock if Tottenham’s latest injury setback convinced Mauricio Pochettino that he needed to sign a new defender during this window – perhaps tempting him to confirm his interest in Murillo with a bid.
Though the Colombian is predominantly a centre-back, he has featured at right-back on a couple of occasions in the past so his arrival may perhaps help if Kieran Trippier is sidelined for any significant period of time after limping out of their most recent pre-season friendly.
And if Pochettino only deems him to be a centre-back, then perhaps his arrival would free up one of the other defenders to move out to the right in Tripper’s absence if he manages to make an unlikely deal happen.
