Tottenham Hotspur are ready to ‘get serious’ with a January bid for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie – and it could include Tanguy Ndombele.
That’s according to Calciomercato in Italy, who claim that the battle for Kessie’s signature currently looks like Tottenham against Paris Saint-Germain.
That means taking on former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, and that’s a pretty daunting task for Tottenham given PSG’s pulling power of late.
PSG could offer striker Mauro Icardi or midfielder Leandro Paredes in a deal for Kessie, and AC are thought to be interested in that idea.
Tottenham would have a swap move of their own though, as they could offer up Ndombele to tempt Milan into selling Kessie.
It’s noted that if Tottenham and Milan come forward with such offers, Juventus may well back away as they seemingly only want Kessie on a free transfer.
That seems a little bold for Tottenham though, especially given that Kessie is inside the final year of his contract and can be signed for free next summer.
Sending Tottenham’s record signing to get Kessie six months early? That doesn’t like a Daniel Levy move, but maybe Tottenham realise that winning the race won’t be easy.

Gazzetta Dello Sport reported over the weekend that Liverpool fancy signing Kessie, so Tottenham aren’t even the only English team in the fight for the Ivorian.
Kessie, 24, hit 13 goals and four assists in 37 league outings last season, continuing to shine as a box-to-box midfield player.
That’s a role that Ndombele just hasn’t really had the conditioning for, if we’re being brutally honest, and with Tottenham maybe ready to move on from the Frenchman, Kessie is emerging as a top target.
