Tottenham Hotspur are already considering life after Antonio Conte, with club staff hopeful he can make Spurs attractive enough to lure Mauricio Pochettino back, as per The Athletic.
Conte has only overseen one Premier League fixture as Tottenham manager since replacing Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm. With Spurs playing out a goalless stalemate at Everton.
Tottenham had considered bringing Pochettino back to north London over Nuno to replace Jose Mourinho this summer. But while the Argentine’s relations with Chairman Daniel Levy are healthy again, Paris Saint-Germain blocked the 49-year-old leaving the Ligue 1 outfit.

Pochettino would also have only returned to Tottenham two-years on from Levy firing him if the conditions were right. He would particularly seek assurances on financial backing and being able to build a team cable of reaching great heights.
Tottenham would have struggled to convince Pochettino to leave PSG if they turned to him over Conte. But hope the Italian can now raise the club’s status to one day bring him back once the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss decides to call time on his spell with Spurs.
Pochettino would have left a Champions League-chasing side of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at PSG for Europa Conference League football at Tottenham this season.
The Argentine is relishing the chance to work with such elite talent in the French capital. Paris Saint-Germain are also 10-points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after just 13 games, too.

Should Tottenham bring Pochettino back to replace Conte?
Conte joined Tottenham on an 18-month contract on November 2, running to 2023 – when Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain deal also expires.
Yet Conte may not even see that out, with an average term of just 1.1-years during his prior positions. Compared to Pochettino’s 2.89-years – half the time he spent in north London.
Levy bringing Pochettino back to Tottenham to one day replace Conte may also reunite him with Karry Kane. The England captain was full of praise for the Argentine during his tenure.
“He’s been massive,” Kane said, via Goal. “Since he took over, he’s had a plan to become one of the best teams in Europe and now we’re not far away from the biggest game in Europe and in our club’s history.
“He’s done a fantastic job, he’s a great manager. All the players want to fight and play and do everything for him.”
